A flammable organic liquid has been used for an electrolyte for the lithium ion battery. This sometimes causes serious safety problems like explosion and electrolyte leakage. Therefore, research on all-solid-state lithium ion battery with ceramics electrolyte has been going into the spot light.
In the case of liquid electrolyte, large contact area of electrode and electrolyte can be obtained easily due to penetration of liquid electrolyte into pores of electrode. On the other hand, it is difficult to obtain large contact area of electrode and ceramics electrolyte. To solve this problem, we have tried to fabricate 3 dimensional all-solid-state battery, which possesses 3 dimensionally enlarged contact area as shown in fig. 1.
